An Intimate Wedding at Torre Palazzone: Elizabeth & Paul
Some weddings ask for a grand stage. Others ask only for the right people in the right place. Elizabeth and Paul chose the second, and Torre Palazzone gave them exactly that: a Torre Palazzone wedding with only their closest family, held in one of the most quietly beautiful corners of the Sienese countryside.
A Medieval Home in the Montagnola Senese
Torre Palazzone rises among the wooded hills of the Montagnola Senese, a few kilometres from the village of Sovicille and a short drive from Siena. Its foundations date back to the 13th century. Today it is a private estate that still feels like a home rather than a venue.
The arrival sets the tone. A long avenue of cypresses leads up to the tower, and with every curve the outside world falls further away. By the time you reach the courtyard, the only thing left is the stillness of the Sienese countryside.
Intimate, but Refined
Elizabeth and Paul wanted a wedding that felt personal without losing its elegance. With only their families around them, every moment carried weight: a glance between parents, a quiet word before the ceremony, laughter around a single long table.
Torre Palazzone suits this kind of day perfectly. The interior rooms, with their stone walls, warm light and lived-in charm, invite people to gather close. The billiard room became one of my favourite corners of the day, a place where conversations slowed down and the celebration felt like a family evening at home.
Hosted by the Torre Palazzone Team
Part of what made the day feel so effortless was that everything was in the same hands. The entire organisation of the wedding was handled by the Torre Palazzone staff, from the planning in the months before to the smallest details on the day. Elizabeth and Paul could leave the logistics behind and simply be present with their families.
The aperitivo and the dinner were also prepared and served by the estate’s own team. Nothing felt like an event being managed; it felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. For an intimate wedding in Tuscany, that kind of care makes all the difference, and as a photographer it allowed me to focus entirely on the people and the moments between them.
Photographing a Family Wedding
When a wedding is this small, there is nowhere to hide and nothing to perform. My role was to stay present and discreet, letting the day unfold on its own terms. I photographed what was real: the embraces, the pauses, the light moving through the rooms as the afternoon turned into evening.
That is what I love about intimate weddings in Tuscany. They remind us that the most meaningful images rarely come from a crowd. They come from closeness.
